Beautiful Georgian Regency style double pedestal extension dining table by premier American maker Councill Craftsmen. Constructed from high-grade mahogany, the reeded edge top features a rich center field of book-matched mahogany surrounded by a wide, striking satinwood crossbanded border with fine accent stringing.
The top rests on two solid mahogany turned pedestals adorned with hand-carved acanthus leaf details. Each pedestal flares into a sweeping four-leg base featuring reeded tops and solid brass lion claw foot casters.
This versatile table spans 72 inches without leaves, ideal for everyday dining, and extends up to 132 inches with all three included leaves installed—comfortably seating 10 to 12 guests for formal gatherings. Marked with the original brass metal tag underneath reading "Councill Craftsmen".
Condition:
Good vintage condition. The top retains a high-gloss finish with rich grain contrast and strong visual presence. Condition issues are minor and consistent with light use, including light surface scratching and minor finish press marks on the top surface (see photos).
