These are pretty much the finest quality chest of drawers I have ever laid my hands on, they are substantial in weight, the cuts of walnut have a deep rich grain and simply glow in the right light, they are the most exquisite quality.

The inside top right drawer is stamped Howard & Son’s Berners street, there is also remnants of a paper label which has the serial number on of 8696 4332 and then “Easy Chair & Sofa Factory, Howard & Son’s Upholsterers 2526 & 27 Berners Street London Patent dining table” What a great piece of history. The real Piece De Resistance! Is the back of the drawers, they have the original name tag of the owner who commissioned them, one Sir C Pigott, its dated Sept 12 1881, the full history of the good chap is as follows This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity

issues arising from misattribution less
