Built during the height of American industrial manufacturing, this pub table combines a thick, edge-glued maple top with a salvaged cast-iron pedestal originally used to support shop equipment. The top shows tight lamination with light figure, tool flecks, and a clean satin finish-classic of bench maple reclaimed from Midwestern factories. The pedestal rises with a subtle flare and sits on a square footplate, retaining decades of wear, darkened steel tones, and utilitarian shaping. An additional cast-iron tray-likely a drip or parts tray from its former machine application-mounts just beneath the top and can be installed or removed as needed. Its sculpted form includes a recessed circular well that once held a small oil cup, now richly oxidized and textural. The whole piece stands with the rugged, overbuilt character that defined Depression-era industrial design.
