Italian sideboard attributed to vittorio dassi in walnut, glass and brass, manufactured by g. Cecchini e c., italy, 1950s. An elegant and highly distinctive italian mid-century design, combining refined materials with sculptural architectural details. The sideboard is executed in beautifully figured walnut and features a striking floating glass top, supported by sculptural solid walnut uprights that give the piece its light and sophisticated appearance. A black glass display surface beneath the clear glass top creates a dramatic contrast while emphasizing the elegant construction. The front is fitted with four spacious drawers, each featuring beautifully integrated carved pulls that run almost the full width of the drawer fronts, creating a clean horizontal rhythm. Slender tapered legs with solid brass sabots complete the refined silhouette and add a subtle luxurious touch. The craftsmanship throughout reflects the high standards of italian cabinetmaking during the 1950s, balancing functionality with sculptural elegance. The original manufacturer's label from g. Cecchini e c. Remains present on the back, confirming its authenticity. Presented in very good original condition, with a warm walnut patina, original glass elements, brass details and only light signs of age and use consistent with its period. A rare and sophisticated italian sideboard that perfectly captures the elegance and innovation of 1950s italian modern design. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
