Beautiful pair of Curule Form chairs. Newly reupholstered seat, back and arm pads in a Silk Tiger Velvet - Oro Fabric made by Lee Jofa. Gold and silver chair forms, with carved medallions and scrolls. Finished with brass nailheads.
Known as the sella curulis, these seats were originally reserved for high-ranking magistrates, consuls, and emperors. The form has evolved largely over time, with many variations.
