Beautiful, authentic matching pair of antique Cape Cod Cottage cast iron doorstops, manufactured by the renowned Hubley Manufacturing Company in the 1920s.
This specific design is documented as Hubley Catalog Design #211.
Both pieces feature an excellent hollow-back design with a wide, solid flush base that was hand-filed at the foundry—a signature hallmark of early 20th-century American craftsmanship.
They retain a fantastic amount of their original, vibrant, hand-painted details, showcasing a classic yellow cottage facade, a deep green roof, a brick-red chimney, and a white picket fence tucked behind lush green hedges.
Excellent used antique condition. Wonderful, natural patina. Both doorstops retain a high percentage of their original hand-painted finishes. There is minor, honest paint loss along the roof ridges, corners, and base perimeters consistent with 100+ years of careful age and utility. There are no cracks, chips; or breaks. Bases are clean, smooth, and unpainted. Normal wear from use and age.
