A large-format work at 41 inches wide — well above the scale Yazzie typically painted, and the strongest presentation format for his landscape work.

The composition centers on a weathered adobe horno, its dome cracked with age and its stone-lined mouth open to the viewer, surrounded by scattered juniper firewood. Beside it, a stand of bleached, wind-twisted snags rises against a wall of snow-capped peaks rendered in cobalt, slate, and white. A black-on-white polychrome olla with geometric banding sits in the foreground. To the right, a multi-story pueblo with pole ladders steps down toward a turquoise river cutting through spring meadow. The palette moves from deep alpine blues through terracotta and sage — quiet, atmospheric, and unmistakably his.

Presented in its original ebonized wood molding with a natural linen liner. Original stretcher with center brace, wire hung and ready to hang.
