Leon D'Usseau was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1918 and began his prolific art career at a young age, studying under Alexander Archipenko. A well-known listed artist with deep roots in California modernism and Hollywood, his work is referenced in standard historical art compendiums including Who Was Who in American Art, Artists in California, and Who Was Who in Western Art. His distinctive paintings were also famously utilized as period set decor in classic mid-century film and television. See less
