The piece is crowned by a magnificent, thick slab of polished French Rouge marble featuring a deeply stepped molded edge and a striking red-coral ground patterned with intricate white calcite veins. Below the marble top, the walnut frame is configured with two side-by-side upper drawers constructed with thick, solid oak interior linings secured via robust hand-cut dovetail joints. The drawers are pulled via heavily sculpted cast-brass rococo bail handles, and the front facade is detailed with serpentine panel molding and an ornate hand-carved central acanthus leaf plaque. The vertical stiles and front corners feature beautifully dimensional, hand-carved corner blocks with undercut acanthus scrolls resting above twin-fluted pilasters. The sides are fully finished with large, clean inset panels and matching scalloped aprons, while the reverse features a robust, structurally paneled wood back displaying an authentic aged patina.

The lower body features two spacious cabinet doors opening to a well-preserved two-shelf interior. The right door is outfitted with its original, heavy-duty solid brass vertical surface bolt locking system, operated by its original, highly ornate cast-brass decorative skeleton key. The exterior doors are detailed with elongated rococo cast-brass escutcheons, deeply carved asymmetrical serpentine panels, a fluted vertical central pilaster, and a heavily scrolled lower apron centered around an intricate hand-carved foliate cartouche. The commode is supported by short, graceful cabriole legs deeply carved with acanthus knees and terminating in tight scrolled whorl feet, lifting the substantial cabinet with a characteristically light and artistic European silhouette. Exhibiting a beautifully preserved original finish with minor, character-rich surface marks from authentic age, this versatile piece offers a sophisticated and commanding presence for any luxury interior.
