This item features a hand-colored paper panel accented with natural illustrations of birds, nests, and floral branches. The center displays handwritten Japanese script calling upon the soul to look toward Christ's sacrifice, containing the phrase "我が魂よ... その十字架を..." ("Oh my soul... take up that Cross...").The raw, naturally aged edges of the paper give it a striking manuscript-like character. It is highlighted by a white gallery mat and presented in a heavy vintage ornate gilt frame with beautifully carved scrollwork and baroque corner flourishes.
