Large vintage hand-carved Native American Chief statue dating to 1973. This impressive sculpture features a seated chief wearing a detailed feather war bonnet, ceremonial attire, beaded chest piece, earrings, and holding a ceremonial pipe. Beautiful craftsmanship with exceptional carved detail and a rich hand-painted finish throughout.
The sculpture is signed Vaughn Kendrick, dated 1973, and marked Universal Statuary Corp., Chicago on the reverse.
This is an exceptionally heavy piece (approximately 30 lbs) with the appearance and feel of solid carved wood. It makes a striking display for collectors of Western Americana, Native American art, rustic décor, or vintage sculptures.
