An exquisite mid-century Shōwa-era Japanese woodblock reprint of the legendary masterpiece "Sudden Shower over Shin-Ōhashi Bridge and Atake" by ukiyo-e master Utagawa Hiroshige (1797–1858). Originally published in 1857 as part of the celebrated series One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, this dynamic composition captures a sudden summer downpour trapping pedestrians on a wooden bridge over the Sumida River, rendered in striking atmospheric blues and sharp linear rain details.
This premium, hand-printed edition features re-carved blocks showcasing the historical publisher seal Shitaya Uoei (下谷 魚栄) in the lower left corner and "Motohan" (元版) authenticity stamps in the upper right margin. Hand-inked on thick, fibrous handmade Japanese washi paper, the print displays brilliant bokashi ink gradations and is cleanly separated from its original backing tape. It comes accompanied by its original cream window mat board and card stock protection gate.
