This original painting’s highlights have a soft luster, consistent with encaustic
(Beeswax) or oil with cold wax medium.
There seems to be a woman’s face formed by the shapes across the top of the skull. The large skull with BAR and two weary looking figures gives the painting a strong reference to Day of the Dead.
