This striking 1930s Art Deco Streamline Moderne cast aluminum roadster ashtray captures the sleek, aerodynamic styling that defined the Machine Age. Sculpted as a streamlined automobile with sweeping fenders, flowing contours, and a dramatically elongated profile, it reflects the fascination with speed, modern transportation, and industrial design that characterized the Streamline Moderne movement.
Cast in solid aluminum and polished to a soft metallic sheen, the piece functions as an ashtray while equally serving as a sculptural desktop object, paperweight, or decorative accent. Its bold architectural lines make it an exceptional display piece for collectors of Art Deco, automobilia, and early industrial design.
Unmarked, this example is believed to date to the 1930s or early post-war period and represents the type of streamlined automobile ashtrays produced in both Europe and the United States during the era.
