This example is an authorized mid-to-late 20th-century historic replica produced by the respected J.B. Hirsch Company as part of its "Collection Française" series. The reverse of the rocky base bears the official circular "Collection Française – Made in USA" foundry mark surrounding a stylized fleur-de-lis. Cast from historic French molds acquired by J.B. Hirsch, these sculptures are recognized for their exceptional craftsmanship and faithful reproduction of classic European works.

Crafted using the traditional lost-wax casting process, the bronze features a rich, multi-toned dark brown patina with warm golden highlights that beautifully accentuate the powerful anatomy and finely sculpted wings.
