Fisher (1873–1942), who taught watercolor at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn for forty-one years and exhibited in National Academy of Design annual shows from 1904 through 1942. Fisher was a member of the American Watercolor Society and the National Arts Club; her flower-and-vessel still lifes, rendered in a realistic, loosely brushed studio style, remain her best-recognized body of work.

This sheet depicts a cluster of ruffled yellow daffodils beside a wide, green-glazed ceramic vessel with a single handle, on a reflective tabletop against a softly washed grey-green ground. Signed lower right, "A.S. Fisher," in a warm reddish-brown pigment. Fisher-Dicker estate provenance line, acquired via Winter Associates, Plainville, CT. See less
