Description
Carved wood. Large antique hand-carved Senufo Calao bird sculpture carved in dark wood. The bird features the classic elongated and abstracted beak associated with Calao iconography, along with outstretched wings carved with geometric patterns on the interior surfaces. The figure is perched on top of a carved spherical base. 34.6 x 13.2 x 9.75 inches.
