It … Read more For sale is a 2.75" art glass crystal globe paperweight that came from a collection of Karlov Svoboda pieces. It is signed on the underneath "AJ" so it may be a piece by AJ or Adam Jablonski of Poland. It features a ice like looking base with a red ribbon floating throughout with inserted bubbles anchoring the ends. It does not include a a label and is in very good condition. It does have the letters AJ on the bottom and an original price label when it was purchased over forty years ago.

Jaroslav Svoboda is a highly celebrated Czech glass artist and designer born in 1938. In 1990, he established his private glassworks studio, Glassworks Svoboda, located in the small village of Karlov in the Czech Republic. Art glass paperweights produced at the Svoboda Karlov studio are known for their striking late-20th-century postmodern designs, weightiness, and exceptional clear crystal.

One of the studio's hallmarks is capturing perfectly suspended, deliberate air bubbles inside clear or colored crystal domes. These often feature a deep cobalt blue or green center where the light dynamically refracts Postmodern Geometric Imbeds: Many iconic 1980s and 1990s pieces feature abstract, floating geometric designs—such as primary-colored triangles or neon zig-zag ribbons—reminiscent of the kinetic style of Alexander Calder.
