Kinetic sculpture, Switzerland. Made of welded steel from salvaged mechanical parts, this kinetic sculpture combines wheels, pulleys, counterweights, springs, and yellow lacquered spheres in an airy composition where each element contributes to the overall movement. Operated by a crank, it employs an ingenious transmission system that successively animates the various mechanisms.
Its formal vocabulary is rooted in the tradition of Swiss kinetic art developed around the second half of the 20th century, where movement becomes a true creative material. Poised between sculpture and machine, this piece captivates with the balance of its composition, the quality of its craftsmanship, and its simultaneously poetic and industrial character.
