The vessel has a broad, rounded form and is ornamented using the traditional cloisonné technique, in which fine metal wires define individual decorative compartments subsequently filled with colored enamels. The resulting surface combines brilliant color with intricate linear detail. Particularly appealing is its Egyptian-inspired decoration, reflecting the fascination with the art and symbolism of Ancient Egypt that strongly influenced European decorative arts around the turn of the 20th century.
