He is one of the pioneers of the industrial design. Kalff is the designer of the iconic and timeless z table lamp manufactured by philips in 1955. He is responsible for the success of the range of lights of the famous appliances company. Biography kalff was born in 1897 in holland. He studied at the technic university of delf where he developed his skills and acknowledgment in desig, sculpture, architecture and ceramic. In 1924, he joined the advertising department of the famous appliances brand names philips. His work was really impressive: he quickly had more and more responsabiliies. He is the designer of the brand logo! five years after he joined the company, he founded the philips lights, then he became the artistic director of the brand. Alongside this, he designed posters, book covers for several companies. He was also responsaible for the lights departmet of the world exhibition of barcelona, paris and antwerp. Condition report fully rewired with modern electrical components, the original paint shows some age marks along with the brass surface
