Cent planches en couleurs, or et argent, published by Firmin Didot in Paris in 1873. Recognized as one of the masterpieces of nineteenth-century chromolithography, Racinet's monumental work documents the finest ornamental traditions from antiquity through the Renaissance. The publication became an indispensable reference for architects, interior designers, cabinetmakers, jewelers, and decorative artists, admired for its remarkable accuracy and brilliant color printing. This carefully selected trio highlights the richness of sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Renaissance ornament. The plates feature elaborate cartouches, heraldic devices, grotesques, scrolling acanthus foliage, decorative panels, architectural details, and richly colored ornamental motifs inspired by historic European interiors and decorative arts. Printed in large folio format by the renowned Parisian publisher Firmin Didot, these original chromolithographs display the exceptional craftsmanship for which the publication is celebrated. Their vibrant colors and intricate designs make them equally suitable for collectors of decorative arts and for display in both classical and contemporary interiors. These are original nineteenth-century chromolithographs from the first edition and are not modern reproductions. The framed images are shown for display inspiration only. The prints are offered and shipped unframed. Origin: Paris, France Designer: Albert Charles Auguste Racinet (1825–1893) Publisher: Firmin Didot, Paris Medium: Original chromolithographs on paper.
