jacky coville (born in 1936 in sèvres) is a major french ceramist and sculptor of contemporary ceramics. A former aeronautical engineer, he devoted himself to ceramics from the 1960s onward and settled in biot in 1976. He is known for his glazed stoneware sculptures depicting a fantastical world populated by human and animal figures, as well as for his research on glazes. His work is exhibited in numerous public and private collections in france and abroad, and he has received several international awards, including the gold medals of faenza and vallauris.
