The façade features two drawers above a pair of paneled doors, enriched with subtle carved details, including a carved rosette and a shaped apron inspired by the Louis XV style. Behind the doors, the interior reveals a compartment fitted with pigeonholes above a full-width shelf, offering generous storage.

Built using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, the cabinet retains its original iron ring pulls, rich patina, and beautifully worn surface that reflect centuries of use. As is often the case with vernacular furniture of this age, it has undergone several historic restorations and alterations over its lifetime. The back panel is a later replacement, and the interior shelving was added at a later date, illustrating the evolving practical use of the piece while preserving its authentic character.

Its restrained proportions, sculptural silhouette, and honest craftsmanship are characteristic of the vernacular furniture produced in the mountainous regions of central France.
