Rather than depicting a sailboat simply gliding across the water, the artist invites us into the creative process itself. A detailed yacht blueprint unfurls across the composition, while a finely inlaid wooden sailboat seems to emerge directly from its plans—as though the vessel has sailed off the drafting table and into Monterey Bay.
