This striking vintage Italian Majolica terracotta planter urn brings an authentic touch of Mediterranean charm and rustic elegance to any space. Characterized by its robust, rounded form, this exceptional piece features three beautifully integrated handles spaced evenly around the wide rim, seamlessly blending functionality with classical form.
The exterior is richly textured, showcasing an intricate, high-relief slip design of sprawling pear branches. The molded vines, lush green leaves, and clusters of dimensional pears wrap completely around the body, adding wonderful depth and tactile appeal. The glaze features a masterfully executed, sponged or mottled technique combining vibrant terracotta orange, earthy olive greens, and soft cream undertones, while the raised fruit is finished in a deeper, glossy amber-brown glaze that catches the light beautifully. Standing at an impressive height of approximately 23 inches, this substantial urn makes a commanding statement whether styled as a standalone sculptural piece or utilized as a luxurious planter for indoor or outdoor botanical arrangements. It is an ideal addition for collectors of fine Italian ceramics, or those curating a Hollywood Regency, Palm Beach style, or traditional European aesthetic.

The glaze remains vibrant with natural, intentional crazing and minor manufacturing glaze pops consistent with traditional Majolica production methods. There are light, scattered surface scuffs and minor glaze flakes to the raised relief elements (leaves and fruit) from age and handling. The planter is structurally sound and heavy. There are small chip touch-ups on the handles and rim that blend naturally into the busy, mottled pattern. No major cracks or structural compromises are noted. less
