The fully floating design keeps the look light and makes the cabinet suitable for a variety of spaces. The rectangular body is finished in teak veneer and surrounded by a solid wood trim. The slightly rounded edges soften the clean lines and showcase the meticulous craftsmanship of the piece. The top and sliding doors also display a smooth, continuous wood grain with the characteristic warm color variations of teak. The two doors slide past each other on the original guides. Both are fitted with a round teak cup handle, constructed from two semi-circular parts. Behind each sliding door is a spacious compartment with a height-adjustable wooden shelf. This allows the layout to be easily adapted to accommodate crockery, books, glassware, or other utensils. The original wooden mounting brackets are present on the inside, ensuring the sideboard is securely mounted to the wall. The hanging height can be determined according to personal preference. Placed low, the cabinet functions as a compact floating sideboard, while a higher mounting position makes the piece suitable for a hallway, bedroom, or workspace. The wall sideboard has been fully restored in the Bij de Tijd workshop. Old finishes have been removed, the veneer has been carefully sanded by hand, and the wood has been treated with multiple coats of high-quality matte furniture oil.
