Whimsical vintage reclining lion sculpture by Jeanne Valentine, handcrafted in Mexico from papier-mâché. The piece features a vivid burnt-orange body, expressive green eyes, an oversized sculpted mane, curled tail, textured surface, and black-and-gold paw details on the underside.
Its relaxed lounging pose gives it a playful, highly decorative character suited to an eclectic, bohemian, folk-art, or maximalist interior. The underside retains its original Jeanne Valentine “Hecho en México” maker’s label.
Vintage condition with age-related surface wear, scuffs, finish variation, paint loss, and cracking. There is a damaged area with separation and exposed material near the underside where the lower body and foot section meet, shown clearly in the photographs. The sculpture remains intact and displays strongly. Please review all photographs carefully for condition.
