“As we come upon Spring and look ahead to the following summer, the spirit of venture handed down from our frontier past stirs and reawakens in all of us. Just as in years past, the warmth of spring turns our thoughts in directions yet unfound.

New Directions open wide for the spending of leisure hours, the discovery of new places, the enrichment of hours at home, the touch of things new, adventures to be met, shared and treasured. To these new directions this book is dedicated. It will recall to you, however, old friends as well. For while on its pages you will discover the new, the occasionally hard to believe, the constantly fascinating-here also, you will find some things of familiar excellence. Those things we found no way to change for the better.

As President of Abercrombie & Fitch, I hope this book may through some of its parts add to the pleasures of your spring and point to new directions in venturesome living.” See less
