A rare and historically significant architectural ceiling light produced in Lithuania during 1980s, when the country was part of the Eastern Bloc.
The radial aluminium fins have a strong sculptural quality and precision. At a time when aluminium was considered a valuable industrial material, its use demonstrated both technical sophistication and the importance of the public space. In this case it was a wellness complex built in town rich with natural springs.
Its bold architectural form embodies the distinctive design language of late Modernism in Eastern Europe, where functionality was often paired with expressive geometric forms.
Today, these original public-comission fixtures are increasingly scarce, as many were removed or destroyed during the demolition of Soviet-era buildings. The textured hand-blown glass diffuser reinforces its collectable quality.
Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
