An exceptional and monumental seven-light wall sconce in gilt repoussé tole, italy, circa 1950. Executed in the louis xvi taste, the sculptural composition features flowing acanthus leaf scrollwork, star-centered floral rosettes, and a central ribbon bow motif — a design of unusual scale and ambition, suggesting a commission of prestige from a fine venetian or tuscan atelier. Provenance: from the collection of an aristocratic family of southern italy. Condition: entirely original — gilt finish, candle sleeves, and wiring all untouched, with only natural age-related patina throughout. A rare survivor at this scale in this state of preservation. Dimensions: 110 cm w x 40 cm h vintage electrical wiring, original to the piece. Original candle sleeves (cache-ampoules) included, showing wear consistent with age — restoration recommended for a fresher presentation. Minor surface wear to gilt finish throughout, consistent with age and untouched original condition. Sold as-is.
