A royal constitutional guard sword with a rooster motif, dating from the late 18th century of the French Revolution.
The hilt is made of chased and gilded brass, with a crossguard featuring downward-curving quillons and a guilloché border. The grip is in the shape of a rooster's head, complete with feathers on the neck. The blade is straight and double-edged
