Important gilt bronze fibula,
China, Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD).
Zoomorphic sculpture depicting a Chilong (a mythical creature) adorned with archaic motifs.
Gilding on bronze was very rare and signified social prestige during the Han Dynasty.
This fibula likely belonged to a high-ranking official of the kingdom.
Green patina partially covers the gilding.
