Tetsubin (traditional kettle), Japan, early Showa period, 20th century.
The body is cast iron, the handle and lid are patinated bronze.
It depicts ants emerging from a banana leaf basket containing Pu-erh tea cakes.
The handle is decorated with a gnarled root motif.
Excellent condition.
Dimensions: 21 x 14 x 16 cm.
