Maru-Gata tsuba, Edo period (1603-1868).
Wrought iron inlaid with copper and gold, depicting a yōkai in the form of an eagle holding a gourd.
The other side features a torii gate.
The tsuba has a thickened rim.
Japan, 17th century.
