Sword of a senior officer or high-ranking official, Empire period.
Gilt bronze hilt, molded branch with a lion's head in the center, and on either side, a quillon ending in acanthus leaves.
The grip is adorned with black ebony wood scales, and the guard is shield-shaped, containing a bas-relief of a neoclassical subject: a Roman soldier laying down his arms on a stele decorated with a laurel wreath.
Blade length 85 cm.
