Chinese Han-Style tomb brick depicting a traditional wine making scene.
These mold-stamped clay bricks were crafted to decorate the interior walls of tombs. They served to represent everyday life, industry, and commerce, ensuring the deceased would enjoy an abundance in the afterlife.
Formerly in the collection of Idar Rimestad, Ambassador to the United Nations European office in Geneva from 1969 until 1973 and deputy undersecretary of state for administration under President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1967.
