This unique copy is highly prized by collectors: it features the scarce "First State" dust jacket and binding, which completely lacks the "Year 2" series emblem on the spine that was added to later printings. It features beautiful, original navy blue hardboards with an embossed diamond pattern and a vibrant green cloth spine beneath the dust jacket. Adding to its unique history, the back jacket retains its original retail price tag from the iconic, now-defunct Borders Books - a fantastic piece of nostalgic American retail history from the peak of late-90s Pottermania.

Printing Block: Early official 2nd printing (Number line: 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2) wrapped in the rare, un-badged 1st state jacket.
Early Text Flaws: Retains all early uncorrected text errors, including "Sorceror's" on the front title list, "Perry" instead of Percy on page 157, and the Voldemort "ancestor" lineage error on page 332.
