Pair of antique French Louis XVI-style decorative chandelier elements c.1880. These are heavy cast bronze with a worn gilt finish. These were purchased at a Paris flea market.
The elegant cylindrical forms are cast with ribbon-tied floral swags, scrolling ornament, and fluted urn-form bases in the Neoclassical taste. Originally part of an elaborate French chandelier or lighting fixture, these architectural elements have been professionally adapted with modern American lamp finial hardware for use on contemporary lamps while preserving their antique character.
