Hand-forged from heavy iron with naturally weathered patina, each guard features slender vertical rods secured by circular bands, creating an elegant sculptural form that is equally at home in traditional and contemporary landscapes. Originally intended to protect young trees from animals and garden equipment, they now make exceptional decorative architectural garden elements.

The authentic aged surface displays decades of weathering, with rich rust coloration that many designers seek for established gardens. They can be used around trees as originally intended, incorporated into garden borders, used as trellises or displayed as standalone sculptural accents.
These were acquired many years ago from the prestigious Chicago Botanic Garden Antiques & Garden Fair, known for dealers specializing in European garden antiques.
