Overview
A stunning vintage modernist stone sculpture by 20th-century American artist Bryan Ross. Hand-carved from a single block of highly translucent pink alabaster, this exquisite piece beautifully contrasts raw, organic textures with highly polished, fluid surfaces.
Design & Motif
The sculpture features a signature surrealist motif often explored by Ross: a detailed, serene human face dynamically emerging from wind-swept, draped stone. The artist masterfully utilizes the natural grain and soft luminescence of the pink alabaster to simulate movement, making the stone appear as light as flowing cloth.

The main polished face and sweeping drapery are entirely intact. There is a small, localized chip on the smaller, secondary face profile. This minor blemish blends closely with the stone's natural unpolished crystalline texture and does not compromise the structural stability or overall display quality of the artwork. Light natural inclusions are inherent to the organic alabaster block. less
