A decorative pair of french wall uplighters dating from circa 1950.
each lamp features an expressive curved iron frame supporting a rounded bowl-shaped shade. The sculptural construction is finished in warm off-white textured paint and accented with dark wooden spheres, creating a distinctive contrast between the rough metal surface and the smooth wooden details.
their sweeping curved profiles combine late art deco influences with the more playful decorative character of post-war european modernism. When illuminated, the open shades cast a warm indirect light upwards across the wall, while the curved frame creates a striking graphic shadow.
each wall light is currently operated by its own pull-cord switch. The wiring can easily be adapted for use with a standard wall switch by a qualified electrician.
