This is an early Jieldé model dating to the late 1950s-early 1960s, identified by its oval riveted manufacturer’s plate with green printed detail, an important marker of early production. Jieldé lamps were the brainchild of Jean-Louis Domecq in Lyon, France who got tired of the lamps in his workshop and made one that functioned on metal conductivity without internal wiring. Jieldé lamps were made of steel for demanding industrial environments, offering durability, customization, and repairability, and their distinctive look quickly became icons of lighting design.

This chrome table lamp features a single articulated arm and adjustable dome shade, allowing precise directional lighting. The original raw metal surface shows industrial wear, including oxidation, patina, and visible traces of factory paint within the joints and bolts, clear signs of workshop use.
