Distinctive in this artistic pottery style, inscribed with his signature under the base. The hand-formed shape has a soft-edged, earth-toned and biomorphic almost skin-like surface.

tim orr (1940–2019) was a british-born sculptor, painter, and ceramicist who moved to biot, france in the 1960s with jacqueline orr. They became known for their work in porcelain and stoneware, creating lamps and sculptures throughout the 1960s to 1990s. His work eventually became well documented at auction houses, and design galleries, and this is a highly collectible piece of his oeuvre.

this terracotta clay base does not come with a lampshade, which can be customized or left bare as the buyer wishes.

compatibility and safety:
works with a standard e14 bulb. Currently has an e14 fitting designed for 220–240v plug in electrical systems (standard across europe). If used in countries with 110–120v (e.g., us/canada), an adapter or rewiring by a qualified electrician is recommended for safety.
