A beautifully hand-painted porcelain figure by Herend Hungary, one of Europe’s most prestigious porcelain manufactories, depicting the Madonna and Child in traditional Matyó Hungarian folk costume.
The figure is richly decorated in warm coral, cream, ochre and soft flesh tones, with delicate hand-painted detailing to the costume, halos and facial features. The Virgin is shown holding the Christ Child, combining devotional subject matter with the charm and colour of Hungarian folk tradition.
