Wide bands of light and dark wood alternate and follow the curved shape of the table lengthwise. The result is a powerful graphic pattern in which color, grain, and construction form a unified whole. The top is slightly convex on one long side and subtly concave on the opposite side. The short sides also follow this movement. The finish of the edges reveals how the individual wooden bands extend into the end grain. This ensures that the structure of the top remains visible from every angle. Ash was presumably used for the light wood, combined with darker mahogany. The difference in color and grain pattern creates a lively surface without the design becoming chaotic. The generous length of the top is emphasized by the continuous bands and the low, horizontal proportions. Four original, slender black metal legs support the top. The dark metal forms a clear contrast with the warm wood tones and keeps the table visually light. Thanks to the free space under the top, the furniture retains a spacious feel, despite its generous size. The coffee table has been fully restored in the Bij de Tijd workshop. Old finishes have been removed and the wooden surface has been carefully sanded by hand. Subsequently, the top was treated with multiple coats of matte furniture oil. As a result, the different wood types and their natural grain are once again clearly visible, while the understated character of the finish is preserved. Upon purchase, you will receive maintenance instructions and furniture oil, ensuring the wood can easily be kept in good condition in the future. Height 46.5 cm Width 90 cm Length 110 cm See less
