This is an 18th-century hand-colored etching titled "Der Auerhahn mit einer Halskrausse," or "The Ruffed Heath-Cock or Grous".The artwork was created by English naturalist and artist George Edwards, appearing in his publication A History of Uncommon Birds between 1749 and 1773.Johann Michael Seligmann later published a German edition of these illustrations in the 1760s.
