Riders on horseback in the classical Persian miniature style chase the ball across a pale ground, painted in fine brushwork around a walnut and inlay chessboard. The board reverses to a backgammon layout, and the scalloped edge is shaped by hand.

Every figure is painted individually, so no two boards from this atelier carry the same scene. The surface is sealed under clear protective resin, which deepens the luminosity of the pigments.

Supplied with a full set of chess pieces, matching backgammon checkers, and a protective hard case with handle and locks.

Board 49.5 x 49.5 x 6.5 cm (19.5 x 19.5 x 2.6 in). Chess playing area 28 x 28 cm (11 x 11 in). Protective case 54 x 29 x 9 cm.
