An exceptional matching pair of authentic Barcelona® Chairs manufactured by Knoll and designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
These chairs were custom ordered directly from Knoll in 2000 and feature luxurious Velluto Pelle (VP) Umber (210) leather (Knoll textile code VP210) - a rich warm umber brown leather with a sophisticated vintage patina. This was a premium custom upholstery selection, rarely seen on the secondary market.
The leather has aged beautifully, developing a rich, even patina while remaining supple and retaining its elegant appearance. The cushions are well maintained with crisp tufting, and the polished stainless steel frames remain in excellent condition.
Originally created for the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona, the Barcelona® Chair remains one of the most recognizable and collectible icons of twentieth-century modern design.
