An early 20th century pastel drawing of a wooded landscape by American artist Bernard Gussow (1881-1957). The colors and the non-naturalistic style are reminiscent of Fauvist artists such as Henri Matisse and Georges Braque.
Presented in an antique gilt frame under glass. Appears to be unsigned, but it has not been examined outside of the frame.
Very good condition, with some wear and gilt loss to the frame, as pictured. It measures 16.5"h x 23"w.
